The top cable post is 1,067 m high and you are able to observe the city bowl diminish as you travel higher up the mountain. The ride takes approximately five minutes and there are cable cars going up and down every ten to fifteen minutes. You can also hike up to the flat summit, which stretches out for 3 kilometeres, or take the cable car. After exploring the beauty of the short walks on top of the mountain, you can either go back down in the cable car or alternatively select the more adventurous method of climbing down the side of the mountain. Whatever you may select, you will be assured of taking pleasure in every minute of the trip. The all round view from the flat summit is simply amazing since you can see the whole city, extending from Muizenburg Robben Island, Lion's Head, and the Victoria and Albert Waterfront all the way to Somerset West on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountains.
